Adam studied at Julian Joseph Jazz Academy gaining an early grounding in jazz education. He went on to study composition at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, writing award winning work for both big band and orchestra. Recently, his focus has turned to the jazz piano trio where he has been expanding his approach, accommodating the virtuosic improvised and compositional language of his favourite jazz musicians.
