Bruno Heinen Trio brings together pianist and composer Bruno Heinen with bassist Menelik Claffey and drummer Zoe Pascal for a meeting of adventurous composition, deep groove and contemporary improvisation. Heinen, described by The Guardian as “eclectic, eccentric and unobtrusively erudite”, has developed a distinctive musical language drawing on jazz, classical and contemporary influences, with work spanning the London jazz and international music scenes. Claffey is one of the most exciting young bassists in London, known for his work with projects such as ZENA, while Pascal has been a prominent figure in the city's new-generation jazz scene since his teens. Together, the trio explores original music with an emphasis on interplay, rhythmic energy and spontaneous musical conversation.
