Downstairs at 180 presents ROOTS - a monthly deep dive into the roots of jazz and origins of swing, led by trumpeter Pete Horsfall and trombonist Joe Evans.

Drawing on their deep love of early jazz, swing and improvisation, Pete and Joe bring together a rotating line-up of friends and some of London’s finest jazz musicians. Each month, ROOTS explores a different corner of the tradition through live performance, classic repertoire and spontaneous interplay — keeping the spirit of the music alive and swinging.
